Questions

How is statutory holiday worked out?

Statutory holiday is 5.6 weeks. Multiply the days worked each week by 5.6. A 5-day week is 28 days. The result is then capped at 28 days, so a 6-day week stays at 28.

How does the part-year option work?

The full-year figure is capped at 28 days first. That capped figure is then multiplied by the share of the leave year you enter, in months or weeks.

What is the 12.07% irregular-hours option?

12.07% is 5.6 divided by 46.4. Hours of holiday accrued equal the hours worked in the period multiplied by that rate. The 28-day cap needs a day length before hours can be compared with days.

Are bank holidays added on top?

No. Bank holidays can sit inside the 5.6 weeks. This calculator does not add them on top.
